This is a fun introduction to airplanes for little ones. It’s got no more than one short, rhyming sentence on each page, and simple, brightly-colored illustrations of biplanes, blimps, seaplanes, fighter-jets and even an airplane that carries other airplanes.
The text conveys the simplest information, with lines such as, “Planes land on water. Planes land on snow. Planes land on runways. . . and planes come and go.” In the illustrations, a family of four sees all these planes during their own adventure of driving to the airport and going on a plane ride. Their pet penguin comes along, and briefly gets lost at the airport, although children will spot him trundling along on the luggage carousel.
This book is suited for one-on-one or a group. Author Jonathan London has written two others in the same format. They are A Truck Goes Rattley-Bumpa and A Train Goes Clickety Clack. London is best known for his Froggy picture books.
