Jean Cabrera has rewritten “The Wheels on the Bus” and added her contemporary, vibrant illustrations. There are no people on the yellow and blue bus. There are jungle animals! This book proved to be a very popular addition to a jungle-themed pre-school story. The pre-schoolers enjoyed singing along with the bouncy lyrics.
The lion on the bus goes:
Roar, roar, roar,
Roar, roar, roar,
Roar, roar, roar.
All day long!
Eventually the animals reach their destination – the swimming pool.
Are we there yet?
Are we there yet?
Yes – Splish! Splash! Splosh!
All day long!
This would also be a good book for older pre-schoolers or kindergartners learning to read as there are plenty of repetitive, rhyming words.
