Bear and Mole are back for another adventure. (Their earlier book is Spring is Here.) With a whiff of his nose, Bear determines that it is the perfect day for flying kites. Bear hurries home to get his friend, Mole. Together, Bear and Mole make a kite and then race outside to try it out. It soars up, up, up into the sky. Suddenly, the weather changes. Dark clouds bring wind and rain. Oh, no! The kite string breaks and the kite flies away, away, away. Bear and Mole chase after the kite until it ends up stuck in a tree. What happens next will be sure to delight young readers.
This is a fun story to use for read alouds because it makes great use of onomatopoeia. Simple sentences and cheerful illustrations make this the perfect story for young ones. Use for spring story times or stories about friends and teamwork. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
