Those rowdy pirates are back in this sequel to How I Became a Pirate. This time they need help digging up their buried treasure, but Jeremy Jacob is stuck babysitting his baby sister. “What be that caterwaulin’?” the pirates ask when they hear baby Bonney Anne crying. They gladly inform Jeremy Jacob that “pirates don’t sit on babies” when they are told that they have to help babysit if they want their treasure. It looks like the pirates have finally met their match. After lots of diaper changing and strained spinach disasters, the pirates finally get around to digging up the treasure, despite a partially eaten treasure map. David Shannon’s distinctive illustrations work seamlessly with the story and will leave readers laughing.
